En este 2010 que ya se nos va uno de los buenos discos sacados al mercado fue The Suburbs de la banda canadiense Arcade Fire, quienes vuelven a demostrar que son uno de los grupos más interesantes de la escena musical actual.

El disco posee letras que están basadas en las vivencias de los miembros de la banda, Win and William Butler, cuando vivian en los suburbios de Houston y ha recibido muy buenas críticas de la prensa especializada, lo que ha convertido a The Suburbs en uno de los discos del año.

De este disco los invito a escuchar We Used To Wait, el primer single que se lanzó en el Reino Unido y que la revista Roling Stone ubicó en el lugar 5 de las mejores canciones del 2010, así que ponganle oido no solo a este tema sino que a todo el disco.

En el día de hoy revisaremos un tema que me encanta, perteneciente a la banda canadiense Arcade Fire.

Si piensas que de Canadá solo nos ha llegado la música de Alanis Morissette, estás muy equivocado. Arcade Fire proviene de las mismas tierras y sus sonidos desembarcaron en Chile en el año 2004, cuando comenzó a sonar un tremendo disco llamado Funeral.

Clasificados, si es que se puede hacer, dentro de los movimientos indie-rock y art-rock, el grupo está formado por Win Butler, Régine Chassagne, Richard Reed Parry, William Butler, Tim Kingsbury, Sarah Neufeld y Jeremy Gara.

En el año 2007 sacan su segundo disco llamado Neon Bible y practicamente cerrando el disco, se encuentra el tema que les muestro hoy: No Cars Go. Una de las características de esta banda es que usan instrumentos no muy comunes en una banda de rock, como violines, chelos, pianos, mandolinas, ukeleles, acordeones, xilófonos, etc.

Otra característica del disco Neon Bible es que fue grabado en el interior de una iglesia de Montreal, cuyas canciones fueron grabadas al estilo antiguo, practicamente en una sola toma.

No Cars Go toma el nombre de un proyecto a cargo de Brendan Reed, integrante del grupo. En la letra se hace referencia a un lugar donde no hay autos, barcos ni aviones, donde a más de alguno le gustaría estar.
